House party and Elementary school Izakaya!

The day started off as usual: waking up, brushing teeth and heading straight off to school for a day that goes from 1:30 p.m (13:30) to 5:00 p.m. (17:00), and after school it was time to go to a elementary school inspired Izakaya with students from our school, as well as one of our japanese teachers, Yamada-sensei!
It was a very interesting experience when we had to take off our shoes and put them in very stereotypical elementary school lockers, and then stand in a neat line before the staff would show us to our room where we would sit. At first, the company was: Me, Yamada-sensei, Antonio, Idit and Nikolaj from a higher up class than us, so it was nice meeting someone new as well, and I hope he felt the same thing about us and our company! Later on though, Matthew, Luca and Melanie joined us at the Izakaya as well (they are from the other J1 class), which turned out to be a lot of fun!
We had a lot of food from the set course we had paid for, and also a lot of beer since it was nomihoudai!
The 2 hour limit we had ran out later on (of course), so all of us just went home, I think.. I know I did at least, somehow..

A nice painting, probably made by a kid, or me when I was drunk, no one could tell

Some more cute interior in the school, smoking was apparently allowed

Felt more like a prison rather than a school, looking at our trays

Some salmon, stew and a beer

Since I could not attend to the house party that was planned for last week, the hosts for the house decided to hold it this weekend instead, which was extremely kind of them, so I had been looking forward to this day for a while!
I woke up at 1 p.m. (which meant I had been sleeping for 15 hours, nice) and immediatelly made myself ready for the party, since Shin (the man of the house) told me that it was alright for us to start going up to their floor! The layout for our house is basically like this; the residential area is the 1st and 2nd floor, where our bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, bathrooms etc etc are, and then on the 3rd and 4th floor is Shin and Keiko Matsuda's house! So as I mentioned, they had invited us up there for a party, so I got myself ready as soon as I could, and went up there together with Maja at 2 p.m. to be greeted by both Shin, Keiko and 2 of their friends, Quan and Ryohei! It was not before long that more and more people kept coming, and when we were (almost) a full company, it was time for the food! There was so much food, so much alcohol and such a great company! Throughout the whole day, it was just eating food, talking to new people, drinking alcohol and just having a lot of fun! And around 6 p.m. our landlords/hosts Shin and Keiko had bought a cake for Maja since it was her birthday, so one of the guests had a guitar with him (Yama-san) and he started singing a lot of songs, which I sadly could not understand since my japanese is not that great yet.. But it was still really beautiful listening to, and in the end we sang happy birthday to Maja, where she finally was able to blow out the candles on her cake!
The party went on until 3-4 a.m. in the morning the next day, which was absolutely amazing, I never wanted it to end since as I mentioned, the company at the party was absolutely amazing, but hopefully there will be more time where we can gather like that again!

The first thing we got to do when we entered the party was "caligraphy", and you can see mine in the bottom left, which is the kanji for "drunk"

We then moved on to see the man of the house making Takoyaki

As well as Keiko, the master chef who made all of the delicious food

Sushi making in progress

Takoyaki and some delicious stew/soup (I am sorry, I can't remember the name of it)

Most of the company was assembled

A fairly decent view from the balcony on the 4th floor

And of course a sneaky picture of me

Celebration time for Maja with everyone gathered together!

The beautiful cake that Maja got from Shin and Keiko

Beautiful singing was included as well

We ended up sitting at the floor for the rest of the night, talking and drinking alcohol

Hungover as I was, today has been fairly slow. Me and Maja managed to go to Yoyogi park though to see if there were some activities, which there is supposed to be on sundays apparently. But to our discover, we were too late to see any of that. But we did see the beautiful Yoyogi park, which was a first time for me!
After the park visit we went home and grabbed something to eat, and then it has just been resting for the rest of the day!

A hungover Robert in the park

A final thanks to everyone involved at the party and a special thanks to Shin and Keiko. I could not have asked for a better house to live in and also having the best landlords/hosts in Japan!

Stay tuned until next sunday!
