A blog about a swedish guy in Japan. Interesting.

Back once again!

Kategori: Japan

From here on, nothing will be in order, since I don't remember exactly what I have done and in what order.. I'm such a good blogger, aren't I?
Just stick with me, and I promise to make it up to you next time if I have done something in particular that I feel is worth sharing!

First off, there has been a lot of Ohanami parties in various parks that I have attended. Ohanami is basically "cherry blossom viewing", which is very beautiful here in Japan, especially when you sit in a park surrounded by the pink trees that were in full bloom. Sadly, that period has come to an end and there are no more pink trees around.
So on most weekends, there have been park visits together with friends from class, and outside of class, where we had picnics, drinking alcohol and meeting up with new people!

The other more interesting thing is that I visited Mt. Takao again together with Steve and Julia! This time we walked another trail up to the top, and it was a bit more difficult and steep than the last one, so we were fairly tired when we reached the top! It was definitely worth it though, since the scenery is very beautiful and you actually feel like you've accomplished something, rather than just going out for beers and food like you regularly do on the weekends!
On the way down from Mt. Takao, we went by a kind of "lift" where you basically just sit in a plastic sofa, so it's fairly spacious on the lift. Either way, Steve managed to drop his bus/train card while riding the lift, so it fell down into the woods! The most amazing part about that though, is that when we arrived at the bottom at the mountain, we told the personel that Steve dropped it, and they responded with that they would look for it. Amazingly enough, they found it after only 30 minutes! It still blows my mind how you are able to find a small card, and the only information the personel got was that he dropped it about 3-4 minutes from the starting station. But there were still a lot of trees and leaves underneath, so it could have been extremely hidden. Either way, he got it back luckily enough, so it all ended well!

As I mentioned earlier, that apart from Mt. Takao, that I usually go out to eat and drink food, and that is mainly what I have been doing for the last 3 weeks that I have been absent!
A friend of mine who is in the same class as me (Antonio) showed me the most amazing hamburger place, called "Whoopi Goldburger". The name of the burgers are all named after actresses who share the same name as an ingredient of the burger basically, so it's both a very humorous hamburger restaurant and also very delicious and nice interior!
There has also been various other places that I've went to (of course) that had very delicious food and beers, but there's not much to say about them apart from that it was a very nice visit. I will let the pictures speak for themselves at the bottom om the blog entry!

Also, yesterday I went to the hamburger place that I mentioned once again! Me and the rest of my class in school went there to eat before we were going to school for the International Party that was around 19:30 (7:30 p.m.). It was interesting to say the least. It was fun to see so many new people and also the alcohol was free, so that was pretty great!
After the party, I went over to Shin-Okubo, which is the Korea Town of Tokyo I believe. Once there, I met up with Steve and his friends from his share house/residence, so we went out for a couple of drinks before heading home and crawling into bed!

Since I havn't mentioned that much about school in any of my entries, I figured I might as well do that now as an end to this entry.
School is coming along alright and I mean learning the language at a fairly high pace, according to the people I talk with. I myself think that I still have a really long way to go, and that I have barely started learning the language.. There are so many things I find difficult and that I get hung up on and just feel stupid sometimes, but I am still trying my best and doing everything I can do achieve my goals and keeping it going!

Next week, golden week is coming up, which will also be the time of my birthday! So during that time, you will definitely get to read a fully packed blog with interesting things to read!

Found these little monkeys in a store. Kind of nostalgic since I believe I had one as a kid, did not think they still made those!
